This policy covers the Chrome extension DV Oracle • Traffic Analytics. It is separate from the privacy policy of the dvoracle.com website.
Last updated: 24 August 2026
The extension never reads your browsing history, your open tabs or the content of pages you visit. It only ever looks at one store at a time — the tab you opened it on, or the domain you type.
It works in two modes. Without an account, nothing at all reaches DV Oracle. With an account, DV Oracle receives your sign-in and the domains you look up — that is how credits are counted. Both are explained in full below.
You can install and use the extension without signing in. When the popup opens it takes the domain of the tab you are on and looks up the free part right away. That means it requests these public endpoints from that store, and nothing else:
/products.json, requested directly from the
store being analysed. This is a public endpoint Shopify stores expose by default; it
returns product names and prices./cart.js, also public, so prices are shown in
the currency that store actually charges in..myshopify.com address it was built on. Requested only when the catalogue
confirmed the store runs on Shopify. In this mode no request is made to DV Oracle and we receive nothing — not even the fact that you installed the extension. Sales, revenue and ad-spend figures are calculated inside your own browser.
Two panels come from DV Oracle's own systems and require an account: Traffic (visits, ranking, engagement, countries and traffic sources) and Where it advertises (our advertising database). It is the same account as app.dvoracle.com. If you create one or sign in, the following happens:
Your account details (name, e-mail, plan), and a log of which domains you looked up, when, and how many credits it cost. That record is what makes the credit balance work and lets you see your own usage.
When an account is created we also store the IP address it was created from, for one reason only: the free trial is limited to one per network, and without it the trial can be restarted endlessly with new e-mail addresses. It is not used to locate you and is never combined with anything else.
It is tied to your account and is not sold, rented or shared with third parties, and it is not used for advertising or to train any model.
One thing only: your access token, and only if you signed in. It lives in the browser's extension storage, and uninstalling the extension deletes it. The model settings you type — conversion rate, share of paid traffic, CPC, currency — are not saved anywhere; they last until you close the popup.
activeTab — granted only when you click the icon: it reads the domain of the tab you are
on, so it can be analysed without you typing it. Only the domain is read — never the
page, its content or its history.storage — to keep your settings and, if you sign in, your access
token./products.json,
/cart.js and home page of the store being analysed. Used only for that one
domain, never for pages you happen to browse. The extension has no background process and does not observe network traffic, downloads or activity in your other tabs.
Signing out of the extension revokes the token immediately. To delete the account and its lookup history, write to the address below and we remove it.
We do not sell or rent your data. Nothing the extension reads or stores is passed to third parties for advertising, data brokerage or any other purpose — the data is used solely to operate the service described on this page.
Traffic, revenue and advertising figures are estimates and may be materially wrong. Product names and prices come from the store's own public endpoint and reflect what that store publishes. Use the numbers as an indication, not as fact.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes are also reflected in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
